Mighty River Domain is an iconic Waipa District site on the banks of Lake Karapiro, one of New Zealand's premier sporting event venues. Every year it showcases a variety of sporting and cultural events, it has been the stage for many memorable international sporting occasions, including the 1978 and 2010 World Rowing Championships. Every second year the lake hosts the New Zealand National Championships, and in alternate years the Maadi Cup Regatta, the largest school sporting event in the Southern Hemisphere. The region is often dubbed the Home of Champions. This offers us plenty of opportunities to interact with some of the best rowers in the world on both personal and professional levels.
